The Learning and Skills Council have a single goal: to improve the skills of England’s young people and adults to ensure we have a world-class workforce.
This includes addressing the gender segregation of jobs where women are disproportionately confined to low pay occupations and are held back. Tackling these barriers and the occupational differences that perpetuate such inequality is a key challenge for sustainable economic growth in the UK.
As part of ‘Train to Gain’ a £20m government subsidy has been made available in London to train women in work or who have returned to work after a break to Level 3, whatever their current level of education. This women only, London pilot will substantially reduce training budgets for business and in some circumstances 100% of the training bill can be paid to the employer.
Together, we can make a real difference to the outcomes of London’s working women, benefit London companies and the wider economy. Click a link below to find out more.
